My Room!

I have just finished hanging the mirror and pictures on the walls and my room is finally done! I put quite a lot of thought into is and am pleased with the results so I thought I'd share some pictures with you.


I used graph paper to help me work out where everything would fit in advance. I measured the room up and made scale representations of my furniture and tried different layouts. Here is the final diagram:



The pictures that follow go from left to right around the room and show the cupboard (where all the clutter is hiding) at the end.














The preview function doesn't seem to work on pictures or the cutting I tried to do so hopefully it will work.

E.T.A.: Cutting worked, the pictures not so much. Should be working now.

Excellent pictures, and the end result looks like a nice mix of comfortable and smart. Well done.

Looks good! I'm impressed that you drew out a plan first - you are obviously a true Robinson. I was puzzled by the wiggly thing in the middle, but it must be the flat sheep. Very nice!

How does it feel to be a proper driver now? Have you actually driven anywhere? How did the interview go?

Wiggly thing is indeed my flat sheep. :)

I am definitely enjoying the freedom a full driving license gives me. I have driven somewhere almost every day since passing barring a couple of lazy Sundays. My first trip was up the hill to Sainsburys, listening to the radio, feeling very pleased with myself. I felt very grown up doing the food shopping with a car.

The interview went OK I think. Not too bad for a first interview anyway. It went on for an hour and a half but most of that was the two roles being explained to me and getting a long history of the company. The lady interviewing me did a good job selling me the company, it sounded like a friendly place to work and it was within shouting distance of Mark's (my housemate) office so convenient for shared traveling. The drive there was interesting since it was my first time following the Tomtom on my own. I have had lots of driving firsts recently. Unfortunately I haven't heard back yet which probably isn't a good sign since she said the interviews finished on Monday evening. I have another interview tomorrow morning which sounds more intimidating and I registered with an agency yesterday so fingers crossed. Passing my test really made a difference, I got three calls the day after applying for things with a full license and my own car.

Thank you for the photos, and welcome to the club of those who have mastered the process of posting pictures. I think you've got a good result with your room. One suggestion - to get the printer off the floor, put it on the chest of drawers, and move the items off the chest of drawers onto one of the shelves by the bed. Incidentally, some of the photos are a little fuzzy. Is the autofocus on your camera slightly unreliable?

I'll have a think about moving the printer, the data cable to it will probably stretch that far. As to the fuzzy photos, I used my phone camera to take them. I think it is only the second time I have used it so I was pointing and clicking.
